Getting Started

horizontal_line.gif (412 bytes)

This is the page designed to help you get started in, and learn more about astronomy. To get started, the best thing you should do is read about astronomy and try to find a place where expert astronomers view. Talk to them and learn information form them (How did they start? What do you like about astronomy? How did you choose your telescope?). If you decide you like the hobby, go to your nearest astronomy store and ask what a good starting telescope or pair of binoculars is for the location you are observing in. On this page we have listed books and programs that you can buy to help you get started and learn more about astronomy. If you would like to add your "2cents" to help others, please feel free to send it to us.
