Pathfinder:

The Mars Pathfinder was sent to Mars to gather information about the surface of Mars. It was successful until it mysteriously died. It is believed to be from the cold weather.

Global Surveyor:

The Global Surveyor's purpose was to map the surface of Mars and gather data on the spectrum emitted from the surface. The MGS is still working and looking to find the crash site of the Mars Polar Lander

Polar Lander (Global Surveyor 98):

The Global Surveyor 98 consisted of two elements. The Mars Climate Orbiter, which was unsuccessful. And the Mars Polar Lander, which was also unsuccessful.

Surveyor 2001:

The Surveyor 2001 is currently under development. It consists of three parts. A lander, A rover, and a surveyor. This mission will compile the aspects of all three past missions. Hopefully it will be a success.
